Thomas Hinterseer is currently the President of the Board of Directors of CEDEP and serves on the Consultative Board Committee of a French Start up , La MIE.  He is also Member of the Advisory Board of the IILSC ( International Institute of Leadership and Safety Culture)

He does deliver leadership and safety seminars and workshops for Senior Executives and presents at HSE conferences around the globe.

Thomas obtained his law degree in Austria in 1987, and a masters in law from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, European Community Law section. He is also a Certified Director of the INSEAD Board of Directors Program. He is an active Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and served as SPE Distinguished Lecturer for 2020 and 2021. He also participates in different HSE committees at SPE.

He worked for Schlumberger in various Leadership Roles in Singapore, Paris and Houston from 1990 to 2000. From 2000 onwards, he worked with Transocean, and served as General Manager for the Egypt and Mediterranean Area based in Cairo, and as Managing Director of the Gulf of Guinea/West Africa Division based in Nigeria.

From 2008 to 2013 he held senior positions in HR including at the Transocean Corporate Headquarters in Geneva and was an Officer of Transocean for four years. Thomas was involved from the broader HR perspective in the follow-up of the Macondo accident. He subsequently oversaw the sale of 37 drilling rigs to Shelf Drilling in 2013 and early 2014 to three major Equity Funds.

From 2016 to end 2024 he was the CEO of CEDEP , a leading Executive Education Club working with major Multinational Companies around the Globe, delivering also a number of Safety and Leadership programs and workshops to its clients and members.
